Do I need a doctor’s referral to come to Stabilise?
- No, you don’t need a doctor’s or other medical referral.
- We do accept Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans that have been signed and referred by your GP for chronic conditions. You will be able to receive up to 5 consultations per calendar year. There are on-the-spot Medicare rebates towards your allocated sessions.
How long does a treatment session take?
- An initial Physiotherapy appointment will be up to an hour to allow for a thorough history-taking assessment and treatment. A standard session will be half an hour (30 minutes). Remedial Massage appointments can range from 30minutes to 90 minutes.
What areas of the body do you treat?
- We treat most areas of the body. Please look here for areas we treat….areas we treat. If you are unsure of specific injuries or health concerns not listed, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your treatment options.
What qualifications do the therapists of Stabilise have?
- All therapist are formally trained and are regularly undertaking further formal training. The staff at Stabilise pride themselves in continuous learning.
- All therapist are accordingly registered with AHPRA and other associations.
Does Stabilise accept payments covered by private health insurance?
- Yes, we do. We have the HICAPS facility, which allows people in a private health fund to claim on the spot and only pay the remaining gap. Claiming can be made for both Physiotherapy and Remedial Massage. This fee varies with each insurer. Be sure to check that you have cover in your extras.
Does Stabilise treat Work Cover, CTP, and DVA patients?
- Yes, we do.
- WorkCover individuals will need a referral and Certificate of Capacity from their nominated treating doctor. You will need to provide a claim number. Full details of the insurer, case manager, and any other service provider involved will also be required.
- DVA-covered patients will need a GP referral, which will cover you for 12 consultations per referral.
What will I need at my first appointment?
- Please bring any imaging reports or scans you may have relative to the presenting concerns.
- Wear something comfortable and that allows ease of movement.
- Bring your Medicare card if under an EPC plan and health fund cards for those paying with private insurance cover.
