Exercise Physiology

WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?

Exercise Physiology focuses on the study of how the body responds and adapts to physical exercise and activity. Exercise Physiologists (EP's) apply evidence based, scientific knowledge to a multitude of individuals presenting with differing conditions.

EP's can provide tailored exercise programs to both acute musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation, and long-term chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Exercise Physiology services can also be tailored to improve athletic and sport performance as well as pre and post operative procedures rehabilitation.

SESSIONS

Sessions are focused on client presentation, exercise tolerance and client goals. An initial consultation provides medical history taking, and baseline exercise testing to inform a suitable training program to be followed to reach your goals. Subsequent sessions provide thorough explanation and demonstration of targeted exercises which are scaled and progressed over time.

Our EP’s will communicate well with your other health professionals to ensure you have a team approach for all your needs.

COVERAGE

Most health funds have coverage for Exercise Physiology under “extras cover”.

You can get a Medicare rebate for Exercise Physiology utilising the CDM Program. A doctor's referral outlining the number of Exercise Physiology services is required.

You can get a rebate for up to five visits per year. We can process the rebate on-the-spot, straight back onto your debit card. There will be a out of pocket fee.
